Ambition comments on Children Commissioner’s report

Ambition Deputy CEO Melanie Renowden said:

“We welcome the report’s recommendations, particularly on the creation of a new northern schools programme to improve leadership and governance.

“A great school gives children the knowledge, skills and confidence to achieve their aspirations – whatever their background or circumstances.

“Evidence shows that children from disadvantaged backgrounds have the most to gain from strong leadership, so we want to see development for headteachers and their staff prioritised in the north.”
