Ambition Institute welcomes early release of new ITT framework

Nov. 1, 2019

Ambition Institute welcomes the publication of the Department for Education’s Initial Teacher Training Core Content Framework.

Ambition Institute is a graduate school which works with educators at all levels – from new teachers to those leading groups of schools. It was recently announced as one of the delivery partners for the early roll-out of the DfE’s Early Career Framework

Marie Hamer is Ambition’s Executive Director of Learning Design and Teaching and a member of the ITT Content Framework  advisory group. She said:

“The Initial Teacher Training Core Content Framework is a huge step in the right direction to helping new teachers master the complexity of their role.

“Having a consistent approach to what trainees need to know and be able to do before they enter the classroom ensures every pupil in every school receives a great education.

“I’m particularly pleased to see the coherence with the Early Career Framework, which will mean all new entrants to the profession receive consistent, in-depth training and support for three years.

“This joined-up investment in educator development is vital for the long-term success of our school system.”
