Ambition welcomes £1bn government funding for coronavirus-hit schools

“Schools up and down the country have been working hard to address the impact of coronavirus.  We welcome this announcement by the government to give schools more money and support.  

"There is robust evidence that individual or small group tuition can help pupils make additional progress, particularly if it is delivered and planned in the context of a school’s overall teaching and curriculum.

"The evidence is also clear that great teaching has the most significant impact on improving pupil attainment over the longer term.

"Giving headteachers the scope to determine how they deploy much of this additional funding will enable them to best meet the needs of their communities, and continue to support the most disadvantaged children.”
